Neurorehabilitation is a structured programme that helps people regain function and independence after damage to the nervous system. A team of rehabilitation physicians, physiotherapists, occupational and speech therapists, neuropsychologists and nurses works towards goals agreed with you.
It relies on the brain's ability to reorganise through intensive, repeated, task-specific practice. The earlier and the more intensive, the better the gains, though improvement can continue for years. It does not regrow destroyed tissue, and no device or injection replaces practice.

Reisen nach Türkiye für diese Pflege
Rehabilitation is one of the more sensible reasons to travel, because inpatient programmes of 3 to 5 hours of therapy a day are difficult to access in many countries. Plan at least 4 weeks, commonly 6 to 12. The patient must be medically stable and fit to fly, usually with a companion, and gains last only if a home programme continues. Ask for therapy in a language you understand, which is essential for speech therapy.
Is it too late to start a year after my stroke?
No. Progress slows but does not stop, and intensive blocks can still improve walking, arm use and speech.
Do stem cells or hyperbaric oxygen speed recovery?
Neither has reliable evidence for stroke or cord injury. Be cautious with packages that include them.
How are results measured?
Through goals and standard scales recorded at admission and discharge. Ask to see them.
