What Chemical Peel involves

What happens during your treatment
A light peel takes about 20 minutes and tingles. A medium peel takes 30 to 45 minutes and stings sharply for a few minutes, eased with a fan and sometimes a sedative. A deep peel is performed by a doctor with sedation or anaesthesia, monitoring and intravenous fluids.
Preparing for your trip
Light peels fit into any visit but need a course. A medium peel is one treatment, but you will be red and peeling for seven to ten days, so plan to stay in Istanbul or travel while peeling with strict sun protection. Deep peels need two weeks and close follow-up.

After a deep peel the face is dressed or ointment-covered for about two weeks and stays red for two to three months. Do not pick, and use high-factor sunscreen for at least three months.
