Neuropsychology

Clinical neuropsychology measures how the brain is functioning through standardised tests of memory, attention, language, visual skills, planning and mood. A neuropsychologist is a psychologist with specialist training in brain disorders.

Testing shows which abilities are affected and which are preserved. This helps with diagnosis, planning rehabilitation, decisions about work, study and driving, and surgical planning in epilepsy and tumours. It involves no scans, needles or medication.
