JCI
Joint Commission International audits hospitals against patient-safety standards: identification, infection control, medication, surgery safety. Re-assessed every three years.
TEMOS
A German certification focused specifically on the care of international patients: communication, interpreting, travel medicine and discharge.
ISO 9001
A quality management standard. It shows that processes are documented and audited; it does not assess clinical outcomes.
Ministry of Health licence
Every hospital treating patients in Türkiye must be licensed, and those treating international patients need a health tourism authorisation.

The department, not just the hospital
How often the team performs your procedure, who the lead surgeon is, and what intensive care and specialist backup stand behind them.
Patient feedback over time
Ratings, verified reviews from Clinic-Y patients, response times to enquiries and how complaints were handled.
The complication policy, in writing
What the hospital covers if a revision is needed. A team that will not put this on paper is not recommended.

How a facilitation agency is regulated
Agencies that serve international patients in Türkiye are regulated under the Ministry of Health’s international health tourism rules, which set obligations on information, interpreting, contracts and complaint handling. They exist so that a patient dealing with an intermediary has the same protections as one dealing with a hospital.
Clinic-Y does not provide medical care and does not hold itself out as doing so. Personal data is processed under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) and, for patients in Europe, the GDPR.
