Fleur de Lis Abdominoplasty

A fleur de lis abdominoplasty removes loose abdominal skin in two directions. As well as the usual low horizontal cut of a tummy tuck, a vertical wedge is taken from the midline, so the abdomen is tightened from side to side as well as from top to bottom. The name comes from the lily-shaped pattern of skin removed.

It is the most effective way to deal with the large amount of loose skin left after massive weight loss. The trade-off is a permanent vertical scar from the breastbone to the pubic area that cannot be hidden by underwear.
