IPL, intense pulsed light, uses filtered flashes of broad-spectrum light to fade brown spots, redness and broken capillaries and to even out skin tone.
It is not a laser, and it treats colour rather than wrinkles or sagging. It is best suited to fair and light-olive skin.
What IPL Photofacial involves
A cool gel is applied and a handpiece delivers pulses of light across the face, neck, chest or hands. Pigment and blood vessels absorb the light and heat up, while the surrounding skin is spared. Filters are chosen according to whether brown or red is the target.
Who is a good candidate for IPL Photofacial?
Skin type is the deciding factor.
- Sun spots and freckling on the face, chest and hands
- Facial redness, rosacea flushing and fine broken vessels
- Uneven tone from sun exposure
- Fitzpatrick skin types I to III, sometimes IV with caution
It is usually not the right choice if:
- Darker skin, where the light is absorbed by the skin itself and can burn or leave marks
- A tan, natural or fake, in the past four weeks
- Melasma, which often worsens with IPL
- Pregnancy, light-sensitising medication or a history of skin cancer in the area without a dermatologist's review
الخيارات التقنية
- Cut-off filters: shorter wavelengths for pigment, longer for vessels
- BBL: a branded form of broad-band light working on the same principle
- Combined: with peels or laser resurfacing in a wider plan
ماذا يحدث خلال علاجك
A full-face session takes 20 to 30 minutes. Each flash feels like a hot snap. Eye shields are worn throughout.
الإعداد لرحلتك
Most people need three to five sessions about four weeks apart. One session during a trip gives a partial improvement; the full effect needs the course.
- Tell the doctor about medication, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and any history of cold sores, keloid scars or autoimmune disease
- Avoid alcohol, aspirin and anti-inflammatory painkillers for a few days beforehand if your own doctor agrees, to reduce bruising
- Arrive without make-up on the treatment area and avoid sunbeds and strong sun for two weeks before
التعافي والنتائج
Brown spots darken over the first days, look like coffee grounds, and flake off within seven to ten days on the face, two to three weeks on the body. Redness settles within hours. Sun protection is essential, or the pigment returns.
- Back to everyday activity: Little; spots look darker for 7 to 10 days
- When results show: 1 to 2 weeks after each session
- How long they last: About a year with sun protection
سياسة السلامة والمخاطر والتنقيح
Serious problems are uncommon on suitable skin:
- Burns or blisters, particularly on tanned or darker skin
- Dark or pale marks that can take months to fade
- Striping if passes do not overlap evenly
- Worsening of melasma
- Eye injury without proper shields

Cost of IPL Photofacial in Türkiye
Clinic-Y does not publish a single price for IPL Photofacial, because the honest figure depends on your case. What moves it:
- The product or device used and how much of it your treatment needs
- Who performs it: a doctor's time costs more than a technician's
- The number of sessions in the course
- Whether it is combined with other treatments in the same visit
Send your photographs or reports and you receive written, all-inclusive proposals from suitable teams, side by side. Reviewing your case is free.
الأسئلة المتكررة
IPL or laser?
IPL treats several colour problems at once and is gentler. A laser targets one thing more powerfully. For a single stubborn spot or vessel, laser is usually better.
Can I have IPL in summer?
It is better in autumn and winter. Treated skin must stay out of the sun, and you must not be tanned at the time of treatment.
Does it tighten skin?
Only slightly. For laxity, radiofrequency or ultrasound treatments are used instead.
